I can’t even believe I am in my 3rd trimester already!? This pregnancy is just flying by! I thought I would do a little 28 week bumpdate with some of the questions I have gotten lately and also share some of my favorite things this pregnancy. This pregnancy really feels a lot like my first except I am WAY more tired from chasing around a busy toddler all day. A lot of my favorite things though were things I also used on my first pregnancy so they are worth the investment. Let’s get started!
How far along are you? 28 weeks as of Sunday. Baby is as big as an eggplant and about 2 lbs already!
How much weight have you gained? So far I’ve gained 12 lbs. I gain most of my baby weight closer to the end. I only gained 22 lbs with Olivia though so I think I’ll end up around there again this time.
Are you working out? Yes and no. No I have not been to the gym in forever, but yes I do a lot of walks with my daughter and we have a German Shepherd so she needs a lot of walks too. I honestly keep so busy every day chasing after my toddler and picking her up all day long so I think I get a pretty good workout in everyday without really trying.
How are you feeling? Overall I feel really good. I am one of those girls that loves being pregnant and I will take on anything bad as long as it means my baby is good and healthy. My only complaints this pregnancy have been the heartburn which has gotten super bad lately, and the insomnia. I feel like I am up most of the night which is hard but I have been taking a nap pretty much every day so that helps.
Any cravings? Pretty much just carbs! I don’t get a big appetite when pregnant, I feel like I get full so fast so I have to eat smaller meals and I’ve been having more snacks. I was having a hard time gaining enough weight in the beginning so I started having a multi-grain english muffin in the morning with peanut butter and a few dark chocolate chips on top and it’s really helped add the extra fat and calories I needed to help with the weight gain. It keeps me full for a while too!
Any aversions? I still can’t stand bananas this pregnancy. The smell just makes me sick. And ketchup too! Yuck! I’ve been having a hard time eating grilled chicken as well as eggs unless they are very well done. I think it’s a texture thing. I am able to eat icecream this pregnancy so that’s been fun!
Do you have a name? We are still talking about a few names but we will be keeping her name to ourselves until she is here with us. We did that with Olivia as well and it made it more special when we announced her birth.
I think that’s about it for the questions I’ve gotten so far other then my favorite pregnancy items which I have included here as well!
Pregnancy pillow Hands down my favorite pregnancy product! I had one for my first pregnancy and loved it so much so I got a new one this pregnancy pretty early on. It really helps with staying as comfortable as possible at night and I don’t think I could sleep without it. Totally worth every penny!
Water cup I have loved this cup for so long! One of my favorite bloggers raved about how amazing it was so I ordered it right away and use it pretty much every day. I can only drink water if it’s super ice cold and this cup keeps my drink nice and cold all day long. It’s 32oz so it’s easy for me to keep track of my water intake each day too and it still fits nicely in my cup holder in the car as well as my stroller so I take it everywhere I go.
Belly lotion I am a strong believer in lots of lotion to keep my belly soft and moisturized to avoid stretch marks. I used this my entire first pregnancy and I did not get any stretch marks so I started using it again as soon as I found out I was pregnant this time. The price is really good and I feel like it works just as good as the expensive brands.
Comfy jammies I have had these for a while as well but they are my favorite while pregnant because they are so soft and comfy. I just ordered another pair because I know they will be really good and nursing friendly once baby is here.
The BEST leggings These have been my favorites for a long time as well but I feel like I wear them so much more this pregnancy. They are very flattering and high waisted so I haven’t needed to invest in maternity leggings yet. They do make these in maternity as well but they are rarely ever in stock.
Favorite tanks- These tanks are the best for layering! They are non-maternity but they are nice and long and perfect for layering under sweaters and flannels. They come in black and white and I have a few of each color to rotate. They are a good buy at $10 too!
Maternity jeans- I feel like you don’t need to spend a lot on maternity jeans for them to be stylish. You really don’t wear them that long to invest a lot into them, in my opinion. Old Navy has a lot of cute options and I just ordered THESE black ones and I’m excited to wear them.
Little black dress- My favorite little black dress works perfect while pregnant too! Typically I’m a small in these but I have the black one in a medium so it can grow with my baby bump. This dress also comes in a short sleeve version that is nice for spring and summer.
Belly band- I have these in black and white and I used them a lot in the beginning of my pregnancy to be able to stay in my jeans as long as possible. Now that my bump is pretty big it’s just more comfortable to be in maternity jeans.
Tums- I had to include my Tums because they are the real MVP of this pregnancy LOL! Seriously though, I don’t think I’d get by without them. The berry flavor is the only one I can eat but they really are a life saver with this terrible heartburn. I even have a little travel container that I refill and keep in my diaper bag because you just never know what will trigger the heartburn.
xoxo
